How To Have an Awesome Lunch of Greek Yogurt, Granola and Berries

January 24, 2017 Don

The combination of Greek yogurt, granola and berries makes an awesome lunch. This week I am enjoying blueberries. If you do not like blueberries then maybe your favorite is strawberries, blackberries, or red raspberries. Or  combine a few of your favorites to make a mixture of berries.  I just buy what ever berries catch my eye at the market and that is the “berry of the week”.  I have even made this with sliced peaches! Once I even substituted frozen berries and lunch turned out great as well.Blueberry granola yogurt

This simple lunch is delicious, only takes a minute to make therefore I pack it for lunch every day. First, place 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt in a plastic food storage container. Second, add a layer of your favorite berries. Third, add a layer of granola. Finally, enjoy with a spoon. Its that simple.

The combination of flavors and textures is exciting as well. The creaminess of the yogurt is contrasted by the crunchiness of the granola. The slightly sour taste of the yogurt is balanced by the sweetness of the berries makes each bite a flavor experience. This lunch is also packed with protein. Depending on the specific brands you try this lunch can have over 30 grams of protein and taste delicious!

I’m not a big fan of blueberries but as you said I’m gonna replace it with strawberries! 🙂
