How to Make the Perfect Hard Boiled Egg

This is a quick post for Christa Lamendola who is one of the anchors on the morning TV show WFMJ Today. Christa has been struggling with how to make a Hard Boiled Egg so I thought I would break it down here. At Tiny Kitchen, Big Food we are all about making simple dishes and food education, so it is important not to skip the basics. So here is the process to go through to make a perfect Hard Boiled Egg.

The best hint for making a hard boiled egg: do NOT overcook the egg. You want the egg yolk to be solid but not dried out. The best way to do this is to warm the egg in the water to boiling, boil for a short time then let the water cool. The egg is still cooking as the water cools down. You should avoid seeing a green ring at the edge of the yolk.
